If you have a question about creative and expressive arts therapy and workshops that I haven’t addressed on this page, please get in touch.
Is art therapy really going to be helpful for me?
The field of art therapy is relatively young. However, I can offer that a growing body of research papers and studies over the last 15 years have pointed out the effectiveness of art therapy for people from diverse populations dealing with a wide variety symptoms, including anxiety, depression, stress, and pain-management.
No therapist can offer guarantees of effectiveness. Therapy and establishing a therapeutic connection is a very personal thing. It’s one of the reasons why a consultation before starting to work together is so important. Whether it’s with myself, or someone else, I encourage you to explore the arts and discover for yourself what they have to offer you.
Where are you located?
My office for personal therapy is located in Toronto’s west end neighbourhood of Roncesvalles at the Village Healing Centre.
I hold workshops in various locations. Check the Creative Pulse Workshops page for more details.
How much is personal therapy?
The cost of a one hour session is $120 (including HST). However I do offer a sliding scale. Some people prefer 1½ or 2 hour sessions when working with the arts. We can discuss pricing and timing in the initial consultation, and of course make adjustments if needed over the course of our time together.
If you live in Toronto’s downtown core, or on the subway line and would like appointments to take place in your home, one hour sessions are $150. Larger blocks of time of up to two hours are available. Please enquire.
I accept payment by cash, cheque or e-transfer. Credit cards payment is available with an extra 2.65% fee. I’m not able to accept debit cards.
If you have questions, please get in touch via my Contact page.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Absolutely. We can arrange a person or phone consultation. A consultation is 30 minutes in length. Please get in touch via my Contact page to set up an appointment.
Are you covered by OHIP?
What about insurance?
If your plan covers psychology, then I am able to bill your sessions through the practice of my supervising psychologist. Contact me for details.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please let me know as soon as possible of you cannot make it. Cancellations made 24 or more hours in advance do not incur a charge. Unfortunately, for no shows and late cancellations (less that 24 hours notice), I will need to charge you for the full cost of the appointment. You can pay at the next session or within a two-week period if you have no further sessions are scheduled
Are online sessions available?
What about confidentiality?
All private and group therapies are confidential within the normal legal parameters. We will discuss confidentiality more fully during our first meeting.
Workshops and classes are therapeutic in nature, so I will always make every effort to respect wishes around personal privacy. We will discuss details as a group at the beginning of each workshop or class. If you have questions in advance, please enquire.
